Hospital records, under the names ‘Ghulam Mul’ and ‘Ghumam Muhammad’ share the same serial number, but allocate Muhammad to 2 Mountain Battery. Possibly he was confused with a 2nd Mountain Battery Lance Naik with the same name.
See (130): “During the air raid on Oct 25th and 26th/42 when ordered to fire anti aircraft guns [the HKSRA] refused. Two Indian officers were shot and the remainder were returned to prison camp.”
 (11) States that ‘A fifth battery was added to the 1st Hong Kong Regiment on 1st December 1941’.
Khan’s hospital record is under the name, ‘Ghulam Khan’, with the same serial number.
Singh’s second hospital entry is under the name ‘So-han Singh’, but also number 7720.
Ali’s second hospital entry is under the name ‘Imdad Ali’, but also has number 5166.
There is also an entry in QMH records showing this serial belonging to a Volunteer.
